Mayoral Candidate Town Hall: Full video and photo gallery
The only reason a handful of seats were empty at tonight’s Democratic Party’s candidate town hall is that not all of the 98 precinct chairs eligible to vote in Saturday’s caucus were able to attend.
The first three rows had been cordoned off for them, but every other seat in the ballroom at Walb Memorial Union on the campus of Purdue Fort Wayne was taken by the standing-room only crowd.
Spectators lined the walls and extra chairs were brought in to try to accommodate the turnout. Former Fort Wayne mayor Graham Richard — who immediately preceded the late Tom Henry in office — was on hand, as were current Democratic candidates Dr. Valerie McCray (US Senate) and Dr. Kiley Adolph (Congress).
